ModernART lands at Krugersdorp correctional facility
On 10th September ModernART hosted a treatment literacy workshop at Krugersdorp correctional facility for offenders at the prison.
The workshop was facilitated by two TAC members who took the offenders through our latest information resources about starting ART.
The offenders who took part in the workshop had many questions and were grateful for the opportunity to interact with the facilitators. One of the questions they answered were “Is it possible to just be a carrier of HIV, but not get sick?”
The workshop took place at the end of a week-long activation at the facility. Throughout the week, the ModernART team worked with a few offenders to install murals in the prison. The murals serve to remind offenders and officials of the importance of staying safe during the COVID pandemic, but also to bear in mind that TB and HIV are still here.
