Modern ART launches in Cape Town
On Monday 17th October, the Modern ART team arrived in Cape Town, to introduce Modern ART to the local community.
Over a week, we installed murals in Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Langa and Phillipi. We also embarked on a door-to-door campaign. The squad visited people in their homes to distribute our information resources and to help them download the Modern ART app.
On Wednesday, we hosted an activation in Phillipi, for the Vlei community. We transformed the community hall and installed a beautiful Modern ART mural. The activity drew hundreds of people out of their homes. While they watched the mural installation they also listened to activators who spoke to them about HIV treatment and adherence.
We also distributed hundreds of pamphlets and posters to local clinics in the Gugulethu area. One Clinic manager said “ We are so grateful for these, we don’t get any of these resources and our community needs them.”
