ModernART returns to Chiawelo!
This past weekend the Pink Squad set up their activation headquarters at the Chiawelo CHC in Soweto, Johannesburg.
The ModernART project has returned to Soweto to launch its #BackToCare campaign, to encourage people who have stopped their HIV treatment, to start again. There are reportedly high levels of users who have been lost to care particularly after the peak of the covid pandemic.
Healthcare users told members of the Activation Squad that they wanted to get back on treatment, but were reluctant to go back to health care facilities in case they were shouted at by nurses.
The Back to Care campaign continues over the next few weeks with activations also planned for Lilian Ngoyi Clinic in Diepkloof, on 18th November, and Michael Maponya Clinic on 9th December.
